Welcome to the World Usability Day Events!
World Usability Day was founded in 2005 as an initiative of the Usability Professionals' Association to ensure that services and products important to human life are easier to access and simpler to use. Each year, on the second Thursday of November, over 200 events are organized in over 43 countries around the world. On this day, professionals in the field engage in discussion on the tools and issues central to excellent usability research, development and practice. A second aim of the day is to raise the general public’s awareness.The three Technical Universities (Delft, Eindhoven and Twente) have combined forces for this year’s World Usability Day on November 12 to organize a four days Usability Event, from 12-15 November in Delft.
The three universities have worked together to develop a program for this event at three levels:
Symposium ‘Design for Usability’ (November 12)
State of the art lectures and workshops on design and usability. For more information and registration details, visit our website www.designforusability.org. Please register as soon as possible for the symposium.Exhibition ‘Design United’ (November 12-14)
This year 32 graduation projects with a focus on ‘Usability’ are exhibited. Also four IOP (innovation-oriented research programmes) projects, which are implemented by SenterNovem on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, are presented.Case studies ‘National Design Weekend’
(November 13-15)

In addition to these three levels Chi Nederland (Human Computer Interaction) will present the 2009 Gerrit van der Veer Award at November 12.
